A I On Tour

We were late-comers to American Idol, but since we started watching, we have been loyal fans. We love following the contestants ... their music styles and stories.
This year we had many favorites and Phillip was one of them. I liked his unique style and sound.
We joined Don, Paula and Tim for dinner and the Rose Garden concert celebrating Tim's graduation. What a fun evening ... great music! This year the top ten were very talented and it was fun to see how they have grown as performers. We always enjoy a fun evening with the Petersons no matter what the venue!

American Idol -Portland

I found this video on YouTube taken by Mrcooksnumber1fan ... my videos were taken from too far away to post. Great sound but poor image quality.
We were "late bloomers" to the American Idol show. We didn't watch the show until the finale when David Cook won. The following season we became dedicated viewers the entire season from tryouts to the finale and have continued through this year even with all the changes.
I love watching someone move forward professionally and each year I find a favorite from the very beginning. This year Scotty caught my eye early in the season. Even though I have never been a fan of country music, I liked his personality and deep voice. Hard to believe he's only a teenager.
We waited a bit too long to buy our tickets. We went back and forth on the decision and finally made up our minds to go ... we liked the diversity/talent of the eleven in the tour. I have to say ... our seats were up pretty high in the Rose Garden but we still had a good view. It was a fun evening and I would definitely go again.

Who Would Have Thought?!?!

We have enjoyed watching American Idol Season 10 from the auditions right up to the finals. It's fun to follow a favorite contestant throughout the competition. This year I became of fan of Scotty McCreery right from the start. Country music has never been at the top of my playlists. Well ... maybe when we vacation in eastern Oregon. I'll turn on the radio and that's about all there is to listen to in Enterprise : ) But while this competition has been going on, the songs Scotty has selected have become some of my new favorites. Today while strolling through Borders with my 50% +10% coupon/deal I discovered this CD and checked out at the service desk. Final price $4.09! LOVE it ... and I'm enjoying the new music. Who would have thought?!?!?

Yes! Kris Allen wins the American Idol title!! I love seeing the "underdog" win. I was not much of an Adam fan -- he's talented but just not my style. He lost me at "Ring of Fire" -- Melney too : ) What fun we had watching our first season from start to finish. Such amazing talent.
I wonder how many hours we invested in this season??? It's now time to move on and get outdoors ... spend more time in the garden and enjoy the fresh air.

Where Have We Been?

Seems like I've had fewer posts lately and it's probably due to a new obsession ... American Idol! Can you believe this is the first season we have watched from the very beginning? It took eight seasons to get me hooked : ) Since this is a time commitment of sometimes two nights a week ... I also juggle two weekly Bible studies, digital scrapbooking, knitting, blogging and reading ... I have been pretty "distracted" this winter. Blogging has dropped a notch or two in priority on my schedule. I'm thinking the season will end by May and I will be back to my normal routine. Anyone else hooked????
In the meantime, I will try to post more often.
